Project Delivery: Families Fund Bid Development

The Work: Katie was appointed by Living Sport in 2017 to support the CSP, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Public Health team and Local Authority partners to develop a funding bid to the Sport England Families Fund.  An initial Expression of interest (EOI) was developed and submitted outlining the core strategic argument and need for the ‘Active Families Together’ project. The project aims to encourage families from lower socio economic groups to exercise together as a family unit to encourage increases in participation. Katie worked with steering group members to help develop and define the scope of the project to enable an EOI to be submitted. Katie developed questionnaires for completion with families to inform the evidence base for the project and to assist with project planning.  Katie worked with steering group members to help develop and define the scope of the project to enable an Expression of Interest (EOI) to be submitted. Following a successful EOI submission Living Sport were invited to submit a full application to the fund.  Katie supported the steering group in the preparation of the necessary documentation including the writing of the full application and development of supporting materials including a project logic model, project delivery plans and risk registers. Katie worked with Living Sport and the Steering Group throughout the process.

The Outcome: In April 2018 Living Sport were successfully awarded £325,000 to deliver the 3 year project.
